Chapter 2 – His Fanboying Days
When was it again?
It was during their performance in Kohaku two years ago.
Maki Horikita.
As a part of their decision to stay and continue their career in Japan — he, Junsu and Yoochun undergone a lot of adjustments. It’s a totally different world that they have to embrace, and if there’s one thing that helped them learn the route easier — it is through watching dramas. Dramas have it all rolled into one. The Japanese language, their culture and the business.
Saying that Jaejoong had seen her drama is an understatement. He watched them all!
The hell he’s familiar with her!
Hana Kimi was the first one. He still remembers how Junsu annoyed the hell out of him every time he tries to imitate Nakatsu and practices his dialogues in front of him with so much shirt-tugging, lasting unless he participates by replying as either Sano or Ashiya, and how excited Yoochun was, after finding more of her dramas, others prior her Hana Kimi days.
He himself addressed her Ashiya Mizuki for quite a long time. It was not until he watched Nobuta wo Produce and Kurosagi that he became aware of Maki Horikita, the actress, who by then is rumored to be having relationship with her co-star Yamashita Tomohisa.
Having Maki Horikita as one of the most sought-after actresses just fueled those rumors, something understandable. A sneak peek of the forbidden relationship between a top female actress who has an innocent public image, and is being linked to one of Japan’s hottest young heartthrobs is surely a worthy scoop. Though both parties didn’t confirm anything both benefited by having more publicity and more projects to boot.
Those were their fanboying days. And the end of it.
They’ve been busy — from concerts to albums, its promotions, some dramas, handful of endorsements and their ongoing legal battle, that they barely have time to lounge around and take notice of what’s happening around them.
Everything, including her makeup-free face and her simplicity doesn’t make him fail to remember her.
He took his sweet time observing the girl whose impatience now is written all over her face. It is still a wonder why she’s here.
Obviously, she’s waiting for someone. No need for a rocket scientist to conclude as she glanced at her watch for the umpteenth time.
Who could it possibly be?
Maki Horikita is having the second serving of her drink but barely touched the cupcake she ordered. Unlike him who for the last one hour wolfed down his first order and is more than half way on his second serving of latte and now long-gone chicken sandwich.
Jaejoong’s having a mental battle whether to approach her or not. It’s not as if they knew each other.
Setting aside the Kim Jaejoong today and unleashing the inner Jae the Fanboy is what bothers him. Never has he been this interested to meet someone, in the business or not. It’s always the other way around.
Dismissing the appropriate course, what would he tell her?
Afterall, seeing her backstage on their Kohaku performance doesn’t count as ameeting, especially when she just bypassed him and ignored his members.
Her not being even aware of him or their group increases his vanity level. Not that he is or had been in the first place.
Still rummaging thoughts on his head, he saw her stood up. Closing her flip phone on one hand while the other is busy in search of some notes, she left a couple of them, and headed towards the direction of the door.
Hi, I am a fan of yours care to join me? Just thinking of that made him cringe. Too comfortable.
Nice to meet you, I’m Jaejoong? Wouldn’t that sound so fresh? Creepy.
His panic arose when she walk through where he is sitting, prompting him to hastily stand and blurt out, “Ashiya.”
